About the Role

The Business Development Professional is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing strategic growth opportunities for CBRN Academy across defence, public safety, healthcare, and critical infrastructure sectors. This is a relationship-driven, institutionally focused role — requiring deep understanding of public procurement processes, multilateral programme structures, and the complex stakeholder environments in which the Academy operates. You will develop institutional partnerships, lead or support tender processes, and ensure that all business development activity aligns with CBRN Academy’s ethical standards, regulatory obligations, and long-term strategic positioning.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and assess new market opportunities across target sectors, including defence ministries, public health agencies, hospital systems, and infrastructure operators.
Develop and maintain strategic institutional partnerships with government bodies, international organisations, and private sector entities.
Lead or contribute to tender submissions, expression of interest documents, and proposal development for public and institutional procurement processes.
Represent CBRN Academy at conferences, sector events, and stakeholder meetings, building the Academy’s profile and network.
Work collaboratively with training, consulting, and communications teams to develop competitive service propositions and tailored client offerings.
Ensure full compliance with relevant procurement regulations, ethical standards, and institutional accountability requirements in all BD activities.
Track pipeline activity, report on business development progress, and contribute to revenue forecasting.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Substantial experience in business development, institutional sales, or strategic partnerships within defence, security, public health, or international development sectors.
Direct familiarity with public procurement frameworks, tender processes, and institutional contracting requirements in one or more target markets.
An established professional network within relevant government, defence, or multilateral organisations is a significant advantage.
Strong proposal writing and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex service value clearly to senior institutional audiences.
High ethical standards and a clear understanding of responsible business conduct in sensitive public safety contexts.
Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Dutch, French, Arabic, or other languages relevant to CBRN Academy’s operating regions is a strong asset.
